Learning for sustainability is about the entire school community working together to build a fair and equitable society that lives within the environmental limits of our planet.
A few examples of Learning for Sustainability that you may have heard your child mention are :

Global citizenship
Engaging with democracy
Fair Trade
Outdoor learning
Children’s Rights
Growing Food

In 2016 the ‘Vision 2030+’ report was published which published 31 recommendations on how Learning for Sustainability should be embedded throughout Scottish school communities. Scottish Government recently launched their Learning for Sustainability Action Plan to set out how they will address the strategic recommendations of that report.

Part of this work is ensuring that parents and carers understand the importance of this learning and why it is being prioritised within the curriculum.
