East Lothian Council is committed to reducing the poverty related attainment gap, raising the attainment and achievement of our children and young people and improve inclusion, wellbeing and equality.

In order to support the delivery of this commitment, the councils Education Service is undertaking a feasibility study and consultation to gather views on the following proposals:

• The introduction of a common secondary school day
• The introduction of a 32 period week for secondary schools
• Increased contact time in primary schools for P1 and P2
