It has been confirmed this week that all 32 local authorities have now implemented the increase for school clothing grant payments to at least £100, delivering on the agreement which was reached before the start of the summer holidays.

This is great news for around 120,000 eligible families all across Scotland. School uniforms and equipment can be costly. The increased payment will help many families send their children to school kitted out, and feeling confident and comfortable.

The National Minimum School Clothing Grant is one of a number of wider actions in the Scottish Government’s Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan, which has the objective of increasing family incomes and reducing living costs.
