NPFS Chair, Joanna Murphy, said-
“In the same week that Mr Swinney, DFM, launched “Learning Together- Scotland’s Action Plan for Parents” stating on P3 that “ The guiding vision is that every parent and family should be supported to be involved and engaged in their child’s education throughout their learning journey” it is disappointing that the first mention of parents in Graeme Logan’s letter to Directors of Education is in Paragraph 6 and concerns what parents cannot do.
As I outlined in my letter to The Herald on Wednesday 22nd August, there is a chronic information vacuum for parents and this particular edict is contrary to empowering parents, pupils and teachers at best and at worst could destroy a parent’s relationship with their child’s school entirely.”
