The National Parent Forum of Scotland is delighted to comment on today’s exam results.
Chair, Joanna Murphy said: ” We congratulate all of our learners on their hard work over this past year that has culminated in these excellent results. These show how hard our young people have been working all year, how well our schools prepare and support them and how committed they are to their future. ‘’
“Every year I remind parents that today is not just about exam results. We need to recognise and celebrate the breadth of young people’s achievements. Our young people need to feel supported on their journey to the next stage, exploring the many pathways, in education or elsewhere, that are available.”
“The days before the exam results are revealed can be very stressful for young people and their parents. Now they have arrived, take time to reflect on the best course of action, considering all options carefully.”
“There are plenty of helpful resources available for parents and their children. Have a look on our website for helpful links www.parentforumscotland.org.uk”
“Whether you’ve had unexpected results, or just want to talk over your choices, we recommend the Skills Development Scotland helpline, where advisers can talk you through the wide range of options available to you. A calm conversation takes some of the heat out of the emotion of the day, and reminds young people no matter the results, there is always a next step.”
Your school is your main source of help with questions about next steps, so contact them for advice.
